The Best SaaS tools to boost business growth

SaaS growth may seem easier than many of the success stories might make it out to be. To build great software, it takes a lot of effort and time, especially when bootstrapping.

Hubstaff's transformation from a budding startup in to one of today's most popular time tracking systems was not an easy task. There were many questions about what next to do and what we had to do to grow the startup.

That, combined with the fact Hubstaff requires support for three desktop applications, means that we have to be laser-focused about releasing new features every minute.

We make use of third-party apps whenever it's possible.

We are product-focused so we don't want time to build tools that don’t already exist.

This seems obvious, but nearly every product you attempt to integrate does not work because of unforeseeable limitations.

Aside from that, creating your own tools often puts marketing/development at odds.

Marketing wants to be able to see a lot, but development isn't able to make them. Marketing wants lots images but development doesn’t want them stored in the codebase. The list goes on. We try to use as many third-party apps possible for all of those reasons.

Here are six SaaS applications that Hubstaff used to grow.

Hubstaff has over 20 SaaS tools. Here's a list with six of the top SaaS startups tools that have helped us build a successful company.

Hubstaff Tasks

The best project management system can make a huge difference in your business's early stages. Hubstaff Tasks our very own Agile project manager tool is used.

It's used by our teams to keep track on project updates, assign tasks and work closely together on a regular basis. This is where all of our remote teams communicate in order to accomplish their work.

Hubstaff tasks has a Kanban interface. This makes it extremely simple to navigate through large projects. Each project is composed by multiple columns that are populated using Kanban cards. They represent tasks.

Each Kanban cards contains detailed information about each task. You can view a detailed description, who is assigned, and who follows it so everyone is kept up to date. Hubstaff Tasks offers the ability to create checklists and label them, as well as tag fellow teammates in comments.

Hubstaff Tasks has an Agile Sprints feature that allows us to focus on the most pressing tasks. This helps us avoid deadlines, and allows us finish tasks efficiently.

Hubstaff Tasks and the Hubstaff Time Tracker are designed to seamlessly work together, so you can combine them to get high levels productivity.

Once projects have been established in Hubstaff Tasks they can be tracked using the time-tracking app. This allows us instead of constantly checking if progress is being made, to concentrate on getting the job done.

Visual Website Optimizer is a program that allows us monitor and adjust our pages as needed. Hubstaff's main marketing goal is for each page to be improved for more conversions.

The following is an example a simple multivariate tests that we ran on staffing pages. As you can see, 7 is the winning combination. The conversion rate for 7 was 23.33% against the control of 9.35%. Evidently, we are on to something. We just doubled the page response rate. Let's now find out what's driving this positive change.
